The Path of the Skyfire

Long before today's maps, the Sámi people used the symbols of the land and sky for guidance. They believed every successful journey required a talisman of balance.

On the morning of your expedition, your guide hands you a small, worn wooden carving—a fragment of the Goavddis (shamanic drum) tradition for the Forest Sami.

"This seals the path," your guide explains:

  • Beaivi (The Sun): The central circle, representing Life, Energy, and your Core Orientation.
  • The World Axis: The tree-like figure, connecting the worlds to ensure Balance and a Safe Journey.
  • Community Figures: The circle with two dots, reminding you that Cooperation and Ancestral Guidance are essential.
  • Mountain Marks: The stepped lines, urging you to respect and master the Terrain and Migration Paths.

"When these four elements are in harmony—Sun, Path, People, and Land—they call forth the final sign: Guovssahasat—the Skyfire. The Northern Lights appear only to those who follow the right balance."

The air hums with anticipation. The energy of the talisman is subtle but potent. Your journey is now governed by these symbols—they will shape your focus, test your teamwork, and guide every step toward your destination.

Your hike begins now.

Follow the Symbols. Seek the Balance. The Skyfire is waiting.
